IntelEVENT NEWS Summer 2005

A Message from Don Romeka CEO

First and foremost I want to recognize our great customer base for helping IntelEvent reach another record quarter.  I want to give special thanks to Dan Ellis owner of Background Images.   This newsletter will feature Background Images’ successful partnership with IntelEvent.

I would also like to thank the IntelEvent Team for making the Infocomm Trade Show in Las Vegas one of the best shows in the history of the company.  Special recognition needs to go to our Sales Manager Andrew Ehler.   With the help of ICIA, Andrew demonstrated why IntelEvent is the leading supplier of Rental Management Software in the Event Management Industry.  More than 100 potential customers witnessed his presentation.   Please see Andrew Ehler’s section to get a glimpse of his presentation.  Infocomm was a great forum for meeting many new future customers, but more importantly it was a great opportunity to hear from more than 70 of our great customers.

During Infocomm the IntelEvent team hosted a very fun and exciting Charity Poker Tournament at the Four Seasons Hotel.   The IntelEvent team members were as follows:  Andrew Ehler, Ron Johnson, Norm Sutch, Lisa Foster, Greg Hixenbaugh, Kelvin Smith, Alison Widholm, and myself.   The interaction between our customers and future customers was awesome!  Tom Roland from DAV Production (LV, NV.) was very instrumental in describing the benefits that DAV has received over the years to David Wight, owner of Show Gear Productions (LA, CA.).  Thanks Tom!  David Wight is now one of our newest IntelEvent partners.   Ned Jackson from Pro Audio Video (LA, CA.) was the big winner of the Tournament.  He won a trip for 2 to Monterey, CA, and a round of golf at Pebble Beach.  Great job Ned!

Please read on and enjoy the rest of this Newsletter.  I want to reiterate that IntelEvent’s ultimate success is defined by the success of its customers.  Again, to all of our customers, Thank You!

Sincerely,

Donald P Romeka
CEO

Sales update from Andrew Ehler, Sales Manager

Congratulations to all the new partners that are now part of the IntelEvent family! The 2nd Quarter of 2005 was another fantastic quarter for the Sales Team as we continued to exceed all of our expectations. As you all know, our customer referral program is a huge factor in building our great customer base.

A great example is Matt at Event Tech helping IntelEvent attract a new partner in Kacey at Fisher Theatrical. Both companies are located in Hanover, MD and do a lot of business together. Matt recommended IntelEvent to Kacey.  Kacey looked to IntelEvent to help the continued growth in their business. Kacey is now going through the training process! Thanks Matt.

We are striving to improve in all areas of the company daily. If we continue to take care of our customers they will continue to take care of us. That is the true meaning of a partnership! Whether it is Brad Lust from Metro Technical giving us kudos for a great job taking him live, or Daniel and Susan from A/V Technik thanking us for the development work, we must all work together.

At InfoComm in Las Vegas we had the opportunity to present the company and software to a room of about 100 potential customers. I presented to the group emphasizing our teams determination to help all of our customers grow their businesses. I started by introducing my customer-focused team.  It was obvious to the audience why we are the best at customer service.  I proceeded to discuss the importance of training and support.  Exceptional training helps our customers maximize the value of the software.  Our great technical support keeps the value flowing with minimal interruption.  I then demonstrated the software, briefly previewing each section of the software. I urged the audience to come to our booth to really analyze the software. I pointed out that, as great as the forum was, 25 minutes was not enough time to make a business decision that important. I concluded by thanking my team and all of you great customers.

I would like to conclude my section with a direct quote taken from an email from Kim at Cannon Stage Lighting in regards to her implementation and training experience with IntelEvent.

“I just wanted to drop you this note and hope you pass it along to management.  I've just gone live with the software and want to express my thanks to your outstanding support staff.

Lisa Foster, my trainer, for her assistance in addition to the great training she gave me…Andy Bunyard and Devon Schroeder have been fantastic on the technical support end… Everyone at IntelEvent has been so supportive and understanding through this learning curve of mine.

I am very happy with the incredible support as well as the way the software is flowing.”

Interview with Alan Barber of Background Images Castaic, CA

Background Images is a rapidly growing 4 year old company providing LED, Projection, and Video displays.  They are currently working with many studios in the TV and Movie Production Industry.   Some of their current projects include the movie “The Island” and seven television shows. They have been very busy with corporate events and on tour with Rock & Roll acts like Eminem, 50 cents, and Mark Anthony.

With their rapid expansion they found they had a huge problem in knowing the availability and location of their inventory. They had no means for tracking what equipment is out, what came back, and especially had a difficult time tracking their sub rented equipment. During their expansion in late 2004 they looked to IntelEvent to provide the solution for their inventory control and job quotation challenges.

Background Images inventory is now under control, bar-coding everything down to each cable, and as Alan Barber stated “they saw an immediate cost benefit in the utilization of their equipment.”  IntelEvent provided the solution to improve their business efficiency and they now have a system with real time inventory control and professional looking job quotes for their customers.  Business has been great for Background Images and the future is looking even brighter. In working together, IntelEvent will continue to be instrumental in helping Background Images expand their profitably into the future. They had to have a software solution to meet their needs of today and tomorrow. We are very proud to be Background Images vendor of choice for inventory control management.

Customer Referral Program

We would like to thank all of our customers that have participated in IntelEvent’s Customer Referral Program (CRP).  Our customers earn $250 for each referral that leads to a new customer. This money can be applied against any IntelEvent product or service/support invoice. If you know of another company that could benefit from using our Express software, let us know and it could earn you $250 for every referral you provide. This is a great way to reduce your costs and contribute to the ever growing network of IntelEvent customers.

Development update from Norm Sutch, VP of Product Development

Our IntelEvent software has seen great improvements during the past quarter.  We have made nearly 100 individual modifications during that period of time!  Our ability to advance the software so rapidly to meet the needs of our customers shows the skill and dedication of our development and support team.  The thing that sets us apart from our competitors is our willingness to listen to the customer, and ability to follow through on their great ideas.

Some specific areas that have been improved in our software over the last quarter include:

  • Improved Multilocation functionality - including ability to copy a Job to a new location.
  • Core Functionality – we are always improving the core of our IntelEvent software whenever possible.  Some of the recent highlights include auto application of existing Bottom Line Discount when Job edits are made, Version Manager (allows easier updating of workstations when a new software build is installed), Billling Only Job (allows copying of existing Job without scheduling gear in order to facilitate Jobs that require multiple/periodic invoicing).
  • Expanded Reporting – including location, tech & salesperson filters for Daybook by Day report, ability to select desired Job statuses for batch printing of Pull Sheets, ability to print Optional Model Notes for Jobs on the Purchase Order report, ability to print Optional Model Notes for Pull Sheet on the Jobsheet report, option to print Daily Unit Price (instead of calculated Periodic Rate) on Job and Invoice reports.

Customer Support & Training Update from Ron Johnson Customer Services Manager

We just opened a new office in Tempe AZ. This office will support training, customer service and marketing. We are very excited about IntelEvent’s rapid expansion and we were in need of an additional facility to support our efforts in meeting the demands of our growing customer base.  Our corporate office is still in Monterey, CA.

Our approach to support is to provide outstanding training and support to make each install of our software 100% successful. Our staff understands the uniqueness of your business and helps each individual company implement the software based on their individual needs. We take great pride in providing our customers with a "security blanket" in terms of support.

IntelEvent added another new team member.  Alison Widholm, a graduate from University of Illinois is the newest addition to our training staff that will be working out of our new Tempe, AZ office.

August 1st marks Andy Bunyard’s fifth year anniversary.  He is our Canadian Technical Support/Sales/Training Representative and Industry Specialist. Before Andy joined IntelEvent he acquired extensive experience in the field of electronic media production and event staging.  Andy’s knowledge of the industry and software has made him one of IntelEvent’s most valuable assets.
