Press RoomLDI 2002 - Michael Goldman Reports from the Show FloorLas Vegas, NV- Day 3 October 20th, 2002As the show wound down Sunday, representatives from several companies commented on how LDI 2002 proved more effective in aiding their sales and marketing efforts than the 2001 show, which took place in Orlando last year under difficult circumstances following on the heels of September 11. While most described traffic as slowing down by Sunday, there were whispers about "quality business" going on all weekend, according to one vendor. Speaking of difficult economics, manufacturers demonstrating event management tools were claiming the current environment is ripe for their products to succeed. One executive, Donald Romeka, CEO of IntelEvent-a Windows-based management software tool that debuted a new version (5.18) at LDI-even went as far as to insist on Sunday that "the last two days were the two highest-quality days our company has had since we started (in 1998)." Romeka was referring to the number of orders taken at the show, and serious inquiries during booth visits over the weekend. He suggested this phenomenon was due to the fact that any kind of technology designed specifically to improve efficiency and monitor expenses and revenues in a relatively seamless manner is "a more crucial need" for rental companies in times of economic stress than during more fruitful periods... |
